Thus oil goes back to the pump in helping the reaction of flow rather than hindering it. This adds a bit more push to the pump blades. This continuous flow of fluid between the pump and turbine through the stator brings about the factor known as torque multiplication. Most people only concern themselves with the rated stall speed and speed the torque converter clutch reacts or fluid coupling point of a torque converter. This is the speed which the engine will reach when the car''s brakes are locked and the accelerator depressed to the point where either the car will creep forward or the engine will not rev higher. Unfortunately, few cars reach their potential stall speeds due to inadequate chassis, tires or brakes. Just as important is the converter flash point. This is the level to which the rpm''s will actually go when the brake is released and the car begins to move. This characteristic that can be more accurate of a converter''s performance capability since in some instances a exploreraccessories vehicle will run quicker when driven from the starting line at a point above idle rather than at a maximum stall speed.

While this may be several thousand rpm higher than a stock application, remember that the higher stall speeds do not mean that it will be harder to make the vehicle move from a dead standstill in traffic. Mostly recommended for street performance, this converter can be used in certain blown and injected or nitrous equipped monster engines. The converter will propel the car forward normally except when under hard acceleration. Only then will the higher stall speeds become evident. Additionally, the 10" converter can also be used for mud racing and tractor and truck pulling. For the occasional street driven vehicle the 3400-rpm standard or the 9" converter is ideal. Our 9" converters offer a bridge between the 8" competition converter and our 10" exploreraccessories street models. These extremely tough converters are ideal for nitrous assisted large displacement engines.
